Amanda Bailey is Director and co-ordinates the work of the North East Child Poverty Commission – a cross-sector regional network which believes child poverty in the North East of England is not inevitable and ending it is worth working for, together. The Commission is hosted by, but independent of, Newcastle University. Amanda has recently completed a 12-month, part-time secondment with the North East Combined Authority, supporting the co-development and early implementation of the North East child poverty action plan which was formally approved by the North East CA Cabinet alongside £28.6 million of new investment in July 2025.
